2 Dead in 2 Separate House Fires in the Triad

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Two people died in two separate house fires in the Triad on Tuesday. Wednesday morning, one of the victims was identified. 

In Greensboro, Robert Graves Jr., 71, died after a house fire started at a home on Concord Street around 2:30 p.m. Fire crews said two people escaped the flames to get to safety.

In Clemmons, Forsyth County EMS says a 75-year old woman and her three dogs died in a house fire. Dorothy C. Harris died at her home and early damage estimates are exceeding $150,000. The home appears to be a total loss.

It happened around 5 p.m. at a home on Parker Court near the intersection of Lewisville Clemmons Road and Peace Haven Road. Firefighters say Harris was the only one in the house. 

Fire investigators are still trying to determine the causes of both fires.
