Man Arrested in Connection with Brawl at ACC Title Game
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrested a man in connection with a brawl that took place during the ACC Championship Game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
CMPD charged 22-year-old Reed Fletcher with misdemeanor assault and battery, according to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
On Saturday night, a cell phone video captured a brawl breaking out between fans during a game between the Clemson Tigers and Miami Hurricanes. The videos -- posted to Facebook around 8:40 p.m. -- show a fight breaking out during the first quarter of the game.
CMPD said Fletcher was the primary aggressor in the fight.
Fletcher was issued a $500 secured bond. Officials did not say if anyone else was arrested in connection with Saturday's brawl.
Saturday's brawl would be the second time in 2017 that a video of a fight taking place at Bank of America went viral on Facebook.
During the Panthers' Oct. 12 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, a cellphone video captured a bloody altercation between a Panthers fan and another man sitting behind him. One man was arrested and charged with simple assault in connection with the punch.
