Get ready for another snow event in the Piedmont. Snow heads our way overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning, with some dangerous road conditions likely for the morning commute. We'll clear out for the rest of the week, with lingering mess on side streets.

Tuesday will be a dry day to start, with temperatures warming into the mid 40s ahead of a cold front. Snow showers won't enter our picture until the late evening hours, likely closer to midnight. They'll be spotty at first, but spread out more and more toward Wednesday morning.

As snow falls, it will accumulate without much trouble. In general, 1 to 2 inches is likely for much of the Piedmont, but higher totals are possible in some areas. No matter how much snow falls, the impacts will be the same; dangerous roads for the Wednesday morning commute. Any snow will stop by lunchtime Wednesday, with some sun emerging to finish the day.

Side roads will stay dangerous Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Sunshine and warmer weather will help a bit in the days ahead. Highs Thursday in the upper 30s. High Friday in the mid 40s. Highs in the 50s and 60s this weekend.

The normal high is 48, and the normal low is 29.
