Thursday, November 9 | Veteran Speaks at Randolph Community College

  • Time: 11 a.m.
  • Where: Continuing Education and Industrial Center on RCC's Asheboro Campus
  • Summary: Retired Brigadier General Gary H. Wilfong, a former Commander of the NC Air National Guard, will be the guest speaker at RCC's Veterans Day celebration. The day begins with a job fair for veterans from 8-11 a.m. A Veterans Benefit Fair will follow from 12:30-3 p.m.

Friday, November 10 | High Point University Hosts Veterans Day Celebration

  • Time: 8 a.m.
  • Where: James H. and Jesse E. Millis Athletic and Convocation Center on HPU's campus
  • Summary: Breakfast will be served to veterans and there will be a patriotic salute. RSVP by clicking here.

Friday, November 10 | Winston-Salem Rescue Mission Veterans Service

  • Time: 7 p.m.
  • Where: Community Room of the WSRM New Life Center at 718 N. Trade Street, Winston-Salem, NC
  • Summary: Veterans Day service with Mr. Dan Parsons, former Executive Director of the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission, as guest speaker.

Friday, November 10 | Asheboro/Randolph Field Of Honor

  • Time/Date: Field is open to the public 24 hours from Friday, November 10 through Sunday, November 12.
  • Where: South Asheboro Middle School ball field
  • Summary: Asheboro/Randolph Field of Honor will feature 700 American flags each meant to honor a local hero. Field is open 24 hours a day. The Field will be staffed between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Friday, November 10 | Flag Raising Ceremony at Moses Cone Hospitals

  • Time: 9 a.m
  • Where: Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and other Cone Health Hospitals
  • Summary: Flag raising ceremonies featuring a local color guard (Page High School JROTC color guard will be at Moses Cone) are being held to honor men and women who serve in the armed forces.

Friday, November 10 | WFU To Host Veterans Day Ceremony

  • Time: 11:00 am
  • Where: Perritt Plaza
  • Summary: Wake Forest University will host a Veterans Day Ceremony on Perritt Plaza, beside Reynolda Hall, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. Cadets, faculty, and staff from the University’s “No Fear!” ROTC program will pay tribute to our nation’s heroes and veterans. The event is free and open to the public.

Friday, November 10 | WFU To Honor Military At LJVM Classic

  • Summary: The Wake Forest men’s and women’s basketball season openers Nov. 10 will honor active duty and retired military personnel, including offering free tickets to veterans and their families. In addition to providing free tickets, Wake Forest will recognize veterans and military personnel during the game via a partnership with the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 638. The men’s game against Georgia Southern at 7:30 p.m. marks the Demon Deacon’s fifth annual Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Classic. The women’s game begins at 4 p.m. against Texas Southern.

Saturday, November 11 | U.S. Navy Band Commodores to Perform At WFU

  • Time: 7:00 p.m.
  • Summary: Wake Forest welcomes the United States Navy Band – Commodores Jazz Ensemble to Brendle Recital Hall Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. The Navy’s premier jazz ensemble, which formed in 1969, has been performing the very best of big band jazz for the Navy and the nation for over 40 years. The concert is free, but tickets are required. Please call 336-758-5026 to reserve tickets.

Saturday, November 11 | Veterans Day Ceremony at Carolina Field of Honor

  • Time: 11 a.m.
  • Where: Carolina Field of Honor at Triad Park, 9652 W. Market Street, Kernersville
  • Summary: The ceremony will feature color guards, special music, the laying of the wreath, and taps.

Saturday, November 11 | Randolph County Veterans Day Parade

  • Time: 4 p.m.
  • Where: Downtown Asheboro - starts at Church Street, ends at Worth Street
  • Summary: The parade is put on by the Randolph County Veterans Council. The theme for this year's parade is U.S. Army.

Saturday, November 11 | Veterans Day Parade in Lexington

  • Time: 11 a.m.
  • Where: Uptown Lexington - starts at North Main Street, ends at South Main Street

Saturday, November 11 | Veterans Day Ceremony in Jamestown

  • Time: 11 a.m.
  • Where: Wrenn-Miller Park across from Jamestown Town Hall at 301 E. Main Street
  • Summary: Jamestown Veterans Association has arranged for the ceremony to include a flag raising, 21-gun salute with the Randolph Honor Guard and speaker Harry Thetford, a Marine Corp veteran.

Sunday, November 12 | High Point Veterans Day Parade

  • Time: 3 p.m.
  • Where: Downtown High Point - starts on South Main Street at Russell, ends at Montlieu

Sunday, November 12 | Town of Pleasant Garden Veterans Appreciation Ceremony

  • Time: 2 p.m.
  • Where: Auditorium of Pleasant Garden Elementary School
  • Summary: Pleasant Garden proudly hosts its annual Veterans Appreciation ceremony by recognizing the armed forces and those who have performed their duty for this country. This patriotic program honors veterans and their families.

Sunday, November 12 | Country Park Hosts Veterans' Day Ceremony

  • Time: 2 p.m.
  • Where: Guilford County Veterans' Memorial Park in Country Park, Greensboro
  • Summary: The Steve Millikin Black Cap Veterans group is hosting the event. Retired US Air Force Captain Cherie L. Smith will be the guest speaker.

Sunday, November 12 | Veterans Day Parade in Downtown Greensboro

  • Time: 2 p.m.
  • Where: Downtown Greensboro
  • Summary: Participants are invited to join the parade in honor of veterans. Veterans organizations, decorated vehicles, floats, performance groups, and community groups are all invited to be in the parade. Awards will be given for Most Patriotic, Best Musical Entry, and Best in Parade. There is no entry fee to participate. Click here to register.
