CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Some lucky kids got a surprise visit from Santa Cam Tuesday. The Panthers quarterback visited several locations for his foundation's Santa Cam's Surprise Sleigh event. It's one of several activities Newton is known for around the holidays.

At Sedgefield Middle School, $15,750 was handed out to support teachers and staff for their investment in youth. The deserving educators received Visa gift cards.

At Second Harvest Food Bank, $25,000 was given to the Second Helping program. 200 homebound seniors also got Panthers fleece blankets.

At Devonshire Elementary, another $25,000 was donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina School-Based Mobile Pantry Program.

At Thomasboro Academy, 25 needy families got to cook with Santa Cam and Chef Monica of Food Lion. They also received a $500 Food Lion gift card.
