Don't believe everything you see on social media, Greensboro's beloved Beef Burger is not closing

Rumors started online saying the long-time Greensboro burger shop was closing at the end of the day Monday.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — There have been rumors swirling on social media about the future of one of Greensboro's long-time restaurants.

WFMY News 2 is glad to let you know the rumor that Greensboro's favorite burger spot, Beef Burger is closing is not true. That hasn't stopped folks from flocking there all day.

We spoke with an employee who said Beef Burgers' Beloved owner, Mr. Ralph, is in the hospital. His condition is unknown.

The people of Greensboro and the Triad love this hometown favorite. We spoke Monday with members of one family who've been going to Beef Burger for at least three generations.

We also spoke with multiple people who've been going to Beef Burger for as long as they could remember. Some for 50 plus years. What started as a rush for a last burger, turned into a heartfelt show of support from the community.

Things got so crazy Monday, that employees put in a sign in the window to let everyone know that the claims on social media were false.

"Do not believe Facebook. We're still open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mon-Friday," the sign said.

This message came as a relief to folks who rushed to get what they thought would be their last taste of Beef Burger.

It's evident from the response we saw from the community that Mr. Ralph and Beef Burger are loved throughout the city of Greensboro.
