GREENSBORO, N.C. -- If you’ve ever been to Center City Park in downtown Greensboro you’ve probably seen one purrfect little cat strolling around town.

The cat, C.C. Parker is named after Center City Park. The cat is beloved by many who visit the park.
C.C. Parker just had a special way of connecting with so many in the community.

If you sat long enough in the Park chances were pretty great the cat would come up and say, “Meow or Hi.”

WFMY News 2 even got a chance to interview C.C. Parker one day for a story! However, we think C.C. Parker was a little camera shy.

But now the city is missing C.C. Parker. The cat recently died after dealing with medical issues.

LeBauer Park posted on its Facebook page, “Countless visitors to the park enjoyed his daily antics and calming presence in the mix of an active downtown setting. Indeed, Parker often reminded all of us to stop and appreciate the simple things in life and no doubt led by example on a daily basis.”

The Downtown Greensboro Animal Hospital helped take care of Parker to the very end.
LeBauer Park also said it will work to memorialize C.C. Parker and will announce details as soon as they become available.

C.C. Parker first came to the park in 2007 and kept coming around ever since.

Thank you C.C. Parker for all lunch dates, purrs, meows, and memories.
