GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Carolina Theatre in downtown Greensboro was awarded a $150,000 grant for restoration.

The Theatre will be working with Downtown Greensboro Inc. to use the money for restored 1920's seating. The money will also go toward increasing ADA accessibility to the building.

The grant comes from a #VoteYourMainStreet Campaign helping to raise awareness for historic areas in cities across the United States. People were able to vote for their city for a chance to win grant money.

The campaign was put on by American Express, the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Main Street America. They announced winners Thursday and the Carolina Theatre made it in the Top 10 for highest votes.
