"I wanted to do this just so we could have a chance to laugh and breathe," said Principal Latoy Kennedy. "And you know, we're okay and we're going to get through this."

Students and parents came to the meeting to ask questions about the new school where students will be starting Monday.

Many had concerns about what classes their students will be in. According to Kennedy, all students will be staying with the same classmates and teachers. The only difference is that they will be in a new building .

"I'm a little nervous because I never seen it (the school)," said 8-year-old Kristian Cook. "At least all of my classmates are going to be with me."

Another concern parents raised involved the distance of the new school. Reedy Fork is roughly a 20 minute drive from Hampton. According to Kennedy, bus rides will be offered to any student who needs it.

Students from three schools across the district will be starting at new schools on Monday. Hampton Elementary students will be at Reedy Fork. Peeler Elementary students will be going to Bluford. And kids from Erwin Montessori will be going to Alamance Elementary.
