GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. -- The Navy Junior ROTC at Northeast Guilford High School found a way to honor service men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

On Saturday, the group of students spent three hours cleaning the headstones of veterans at Maplewood Cemetery in Greensboro.

The students learned about the cemetery's history and about the men and women buried there.

Their instructor, retired Navy veteran Chris Storey says the project gave them a new respect for the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who have fought so hard to defend this country.
