In June, Lambros led the Lady Knights to a state 4-A Softball Championship. After the game the team received purple jerseys with Coach Lambros’ name on the back. The Championship win marks the school’s second fast-pitch softball state championship and its first since winning the title in 2010.

On Tuesday, the team tweeted a statement that reads, “Thanks to each and every one of you for the support that has been provided to the Lambros family since Coach was first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year. Today, we ask that you please continue to keep Coach, Sharon and Josh in your prayers as he continues to fight the biggest battle of his life."

Coach Lambros has been fighting pancreatic cancer since August.
