ROSEVILLE, Minn. - The husband of a Roseville day care provider is charged with having sexual contact with a young girl in his spouse's care.
According to the criminal complaint, a 6-year-old at the day care asked her provider to tell the provider's husband, Edgar Noe Lopez-Monter, 44, to stop kissing her.
The complaint states that the mother of the reporting child spoke to that child, along with her 9-year-old daughter, and both girls told their mother that Lopez-Monter had been kissing them on the lips for several years.
That information came to light in August of 2017, according to the complaint, and the two girls went to Midwest Children's Resource Center for interviews and examinations.
In early November, the complaint states that another child reported at her school that Lopez-Monter had masturbated in front of her from 2011 to 2013 while she attended day care at his home.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 30, the 9-year-old who had said Lopez-Monter kissed her wrote a note to her parents saying he had also touched her sexually "many times," starting when she was 6 years old.
Police arrested Lopez-Monter on Dec. 6. He declined a custodial interview.
He is charged with one count of criminal sexual conduct, a felony with a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison. He is being held on $70,000 bail.
