HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The High Point Police Department says the driver who hit and killed a man before driving away, turned himself in shortly after midnight.

Police say 28-year-old Blake Christopher Pouncey hit 27-year-old James Anthony Jones just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday on I-85 Business at Baker Road.

According to police, Jones was walking on the travel lane of I-85 when he was hit.

Pouncey was charged with felony hit and run and driving while license suspended. His bond was set at $100,000.

Police say this was the sixth traffic fatality in High Point during 2017.
