ELON, N.C. (WFMY) -- Elon University campus police are investigating a bomb threat directed at the Oaks Apartments.
According to the Elon News Network police received a suspicious phone call from a woman shortly after 5:00 p.m. with unspecified threats to campus facilities including Oaks Apartments and the Oak House.
A tweet sent out by Elon University campus police later specified police were investigating a bomb threat. Police evacuated the Oaks and the Oak House earlier Tuesday while investigating. The tweet also mentioned Elon University closed Belk Library for the evening.
Another tweet sent out by Elon University said police are talking with a person of interest. Police said there's no further threat to campus. Oak residents can now return. They have also reopened Williams Avenue.
