ARCHDALE, N.C. -- Police are investigating after several handguns were stolen from unlocked cars Thursday morning.

According to the Archdale Police Department, someone entered more than a dozen unlocked vehicles in the Oak Forest subdivision Thursday morning in search of firearms and electronics.

Based on surveillance footage, police believe at least one man was involved.

Neighbor Ray Trogdon found 5 of his cars rummaged through. However, he does not think anything was taken.

"It's definitely odd but I guess if they were looking for guns they came to the wrong place," Trogdon said. "We'll definitely be locking our cars from now on though."
