Hit-and-run leads to SUV going through front door of Danville home: Police

Police say the incident happened in the 400 block of Gay Street. Once on scene, officers found a gold Ford Escape in the living room of the house.

DANVILLE, Va. — Danville Police are investigating a Sunday morning hit and run after a driver crashed an SUV into a vacant house.

According to police, the incident happened in the 400 block of Gay Street. Once on scene, officers found a gold Ford Escape in the living room of the house.

Police say the SUV went through the front door of the home and the driver left the scene while the SUV was still running.

Police contacted the property manager about the damage to the house and removed the SUV from the scene.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call Danville police at 434-793-0000.
