GRAHAM, N.C. – The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office have arrested Michele Prevette Rinaldi, 40, of Mebane, on eight counts of Felony Larceny by Employee, eight counts of Felony Uttering a Forged Instrument, and eight counts of Felony Obtain Property by False Pretense.

The Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division conducted a fraud investigation after a local accounting company found evidence that Rinaldi had stolen checks entrusted to the company from three churches, which led to Rinaldi’s charges.

The checks had all been forged and cashed for a total value of $9,625.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Rinaldi had only been an employee of the company for “a short period of time.”

Rinaldi also has charges pending in Guilford County for multiple counts of embezzlement.

Rinaldi is placed under a $250,000 secured bond. Her first appearance in Alamance County District Court is pending.
