HIGH POINT, N.C. -- A standoff with an armed man has ended peacefully, according to High Point Police.

Police say the man barricaded himself in his house on Willard Road after threatening his wife on Sunday around 5:20 p.m.

Police say the wife was able to get out of the house but the man stayed inside.

Police say he had guns and was threatening officers.

During the standoff, a few houses had to be evacuated as a precaution.

At this time, no charges have been filed.
