Columbia, SC (WLTX) - South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has confirmed one hurricane-related death in South Carolina.

Haley said Sunday that a person died while attempting to cross a road that was covered by water in the Florence area Saturday. The person was swept off the roadway,

Haley also announced that evacuation orders have been lifted in Beaufort County, Berkeley County, Colleton County, Dorchester County, and Charleston County. The orders remain in Georgetown County, and Horry County.

She said she said people who try to go back into areas where the orders remain should know that they will encounter roadways with possible powerline hazards, as well as outages of service. "Know that you are going at your own risk," she said.

She said the best thing would be to stay away until those areas officially reopen, which will likely be Monday.
