WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - At Diggs Latham Elementary in Winston-Salem their second grade science lessons right now are about the art of measuring. So who better to test if the internet rumors are true that “Measuring spoons from popular brands aren’t accurate.
The class tested four popular brands, Betty Crocker, Farberware, Dollar Tree and Willams Sonoma.
At first, the spoons seemed off, but for good measure, they followed scientific procedure and repeated the experiments two more times.
“You want to make sure you have it right,” teacher Mrs. McCareny said.
And what do you know? After more testing, all four brands of table spoons were the correct amount.
“Maybe people are just bad at measuring,” Mrs. McCareny said.
Turning this test into a larger life lesson.
“The internet has a lot of information, is all of it true?” she asked the students.
“No!” they screamed back.
Reminding even us adults to ask our own questions and not let the internet spoon feed us information.
