The closer we get to the holidays, the more you may be thinking about returns. Some stores make it easy. Others? Not so much. So it's important to know the difference while shopping. Here is a few of them.

Let's start with the easiest. Kohl's has no time limit on returns for all purchases. You also don't need a receipt unless it's a premium electronic item.

As long as you have a receipt, J.C. Penney will accept returns and exchanges any time - except for appliances, furniture, electronics, and fine jewelry.

Bed Bath & Beyond will accept returns up to a year after the purchase. You also don't need a gift receipt. And if the item can't be fund you can get a refund for store credit at minus 20% of its current price.

On the other hand, You have 30 days to return something at forever 21. You also need the original or gift receipt.

Best buy only offers a 15-day window for returning most items. They also require proof of purchase and might even charge a 15% restocking fee depending on the item.

Things get even trickier with Apple. You get 14 days to return or get a refund on an item. But if it's more than $750 you have to wait 10 days for a refund check to be mailed to you. You also can't return items you didn't buy directly from an apple store or Apple online.
