Moms are special, no doubt about it. And every year, you try to find the best present to show mom your appreciation. Whether it’s flowers, dinner, gift cards. No matter what you give mom, she’ll likely love it.
I have a twist to Mother’s Day. I say to make Mother’s Day about you! Yes, you heard me correctly. Make Mother’s Day about you.
I mean that you make life long, permanent, inerasable memories with mom that you’ll have for the rest of your days. A harsh reality of life is that you won’t have your mom forever, but the memories you create today, can bring you happiness for the rest of your tomorrows.
Make a video of your mom talking, laughing, sharing stories. What video gives you that a still photo doesn’t is her voice. You can hear her voice, listen to her words and remember her laughter. No fancy equipment needed. Use the video camera on your cellphone to capture these memories.
Or, plan and take a trip together. Where you spend the whole day – just the two of you. Sight seeing, trail walking, pampering yourselves at a day spa, watching a sporting event. It doesn’t matter what you do. It matters that you spend time together – really enjoying each other’s company.
So what I'm saying is that not only will mom enjoy your time together, but that you have memories to hold on to. And this is how you make Mother’s Day about you.
