DENVER, C0 – It's infuriating when someone steals something from you, especially when it's off your front porch.
It means you'll have to go through all the trouble to replace it and that might mean buying another gift.
But not always.
Shipping expert, Michael Grabham told 9News, there are a few options if this happens to you.
He said it's either the shipper or e-commerce company that pays for it.
Here are some of the company policies:
Amazon works with people one-on-one to find a solution.
UPS said if a package is delivered then stolen, it isn't legally liable.
USPS said the same thing. However, it recommends also alerting the Postal Inspection Service.
If it's from a mom and pop shop, all they can do is give you your money back and they aren't required to do that.
