GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. -- An Amber Alert has been canceled for a 2-month-old boy from Greensboro after he was found in Randolph County.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Guilford County Sheriff's Office issued the alert because 2-month-old Joseph Richardson Pearson was missing from his Greensboro home on Robbs Court.
The Randolph County Sheriff's Office later received a tip that the boy could be at a house in Randolph County. Around 8:00 p.m. deputies found the boy with his mother.
The child is 'ok' and is with the Department of Social Services, according to Capt. Robert Hamilton with the Guilford County Sheriff's Office.
The child was last seen leaving Chapel Hill Hospital with his mother and father on October 17.
As of Tuesday night the sheriff's office is continuing the investigation and there are no charges for the parents at this time.
The Guilford County Sheriff's Office says his parents took him to the hospital in Chapel Hill for some kind of medical treatment last week.
When the family got there, hospital officials told authorities they had some "concerns."
DSS could not locate the family Monday.
Since the child has not been found yet, authorities say that means this case is now categorized as an "endangered child."
Deputies were looking for a White 2000 Ford F-150 with NC license tag number PBJ-2697.
2 Wants to Know checked and found out that the father, Jimmy Pearson, has a lengthy criminal record.
He's been charged multiple times with credit card theft, felony breaking and entering, and larceny.
Pearson's record also shows he has tried to avoid parole or probation supervision.
If you have information regarding this Amber Alert, call 911, *HP, or the Guilford County Sheriff's Office at 336-641-6691 immediately.
