GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. -- In response to the church shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas on November 5, 2017, the Guilford County Sheriff's Office is holding several community forums on safety and security in Triad places of worship.

Each event includes training for faith leaders on ways to mitigate violent threats and how to respond.

The forums are hosted at, and in cooperation with, several local churches.

Monday's forum was at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Greensboro.

There is another forum Tuesday, December 5 at Calvary Baptist Church (5585 Burlington Road, Mcleansville) from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Next week, there will be forums at Harvest World Outreach Church (4915 Guilford College Road, Greensboro) on Monday, December 11 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

There will also be a forum at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church (2424 Oak Ridge Road, Oak Ridge) on Thursday, December 14 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
