GREENSBORO, NC -- The Department of Transportation will close the eastbound lanes along an 8-mile section of I-40 between U.S. 220 and I-85 northbound this weekend.

The closure will also include northbound Business 85 at U.S. 220, the access to I-40 East from Randleman Road, Elm-Eugene Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Lee Street/E. Gate City Boulevard, McConnell Road and I-840 southbound.

The closures are needed so crews can safely remove and replace the old asphalt, ultimately rehabilitating these portions of highway.
