You need someone in your corner – to encourage you and to help you get results. I’m talking about a mentor - - someone with knowledge, skills, experience and a no-holds barred attitude to set you straight when you need it.
And when it comes to work, a mentor can make the difference between a having a job and succeeding in a career. Let me give you 3 ways a mentor can help YOU succeed.
1) When a project is on the brink of failure or you have toxic business relationships or you worry about your career advancement, a mentor can be a sounding board. Give different perspectives. Offer solutions that you haven’t thought of yet.
2) When you’re making the same mistakes over and over or you’re making decisions can damage your career, a mentor will tell you like it is. They’re set you straight. Tell you what you NEED to hear to make better decisions.
Rest assured the advice that mentors give you are tried and true because they’ve made mistakes and figured out how to succeed in spite of themselves.
3) And because mentors are a wealth of information, they’ll save you time in reaching your goals. Remember that they were once in your shoes so to speak. They’ve failed and had to figure out the next steps to success.
