ARCHDALE, N.C. -- Hey Pokemon Go fans, don't miss this! There's a beautiful trail loaded with Pokestops where you can hatch eggs in the virtual world and win prizes in the real world.

And if you're still unsure about Pokemon Go, there's extra incentive to try it out.

You can hatch those eggs and earn "Poke Candy" by walking with your fellow Pokemon enthusiasts. You can even win prizes donated by sponsors, Gaming Underground and Stormcrow Comics, Toys and Games.

The event is free to the public and no registration is required. It's an untimed 5K with continuous Lure drops. Players are encouraged to wear a shirt with their team color (Valor, Mystic or Insight).

"Pokemon Go is a great bonding experience for parents and children as well as friends," said Jocelyn Moon, the City of Archdale Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator. "One of the best things about Creekside Park is its expansive trail system. A 5K just seemed like a perfect way to utilize the trails while bringing the community together for fun and exercise."

The 5K Hatch is at Creekside Park Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10 a.m. Attendees should meet at the Recreation Center parking lot. For more information, click here.
