George And Barbara Bush's Body Language Love Story

Take a look at the body language of love that George and Barbara Bush shared.

Today is former US President, George HW Bush's funeral. His body will be buried beside that of his late wife, former First Lady, Barbara. They were married for more than 70 years. There’s been much talk about their love story. We want to show a different side of their love by looking at their body language.

I've come up with the acronym TLC to describe their body language. TLC stands for Touch, Laughter, Closeness. There are many great photos of the Bush’s that I looked at. I noticed a trend in the body language – TLC- Touch, Laughter, Closeness. In the first photo, notice that President Bush is waving to the crowd with his right hand and has his left hand on the small of his wife's back. Touch keeps a couple connected. You touch want you adore and love. What I love about this photo is even when Mr. Bush could have taken the moment for himself and wave to the crowd, he made it known to his wife that she’s equally if not more important then anything else.

The “L” is for laughter. In this next photo, you see that the two are sharing a moment of laughter. Mrs. Bush points to something, which draws her husband’s attention and they share a laugh. Couples who can find humor in life tend to shake off difficult times easier.

In the last photo look at how close the two of them are as they’re walking. Physical proximity is a reflection of emotional proximity.

With lasting love, you have to let your partner know what you feel about them. And body language is one way to show it.
