HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Halloween is less than two weeks away and you can kick off your spooky festivities this weekend at High Point's Ghost Stories in the Park.

High Point Historical Society invites you to the sixth annual Ghost Stories in the Park. The fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, October 22 from 6 to 8 p.m.

This year, tales of ghosts and goblins will be told by storyteller Lona Bartlett. She is an award winning storyteller, puppeteer, performance artist and educator. Bartlett performs internationally as well as in the United States.

Each year, a different storyteller entertains families at Ghost Stories in the Park.

Families are invited to dress in their Halloween costumes. Other activities include a photo booth, crafts and games including corn hole and Pokemon ball toss. Museum staff also will be dropping Pokemon lures throughout the event.

Admission is $2 and free for High Point Historical Society Members. Snacks including cookies, popcorn and apple cider will be for sale.

Make sure you bring chairs and blankets to sit and listen to the family friendly ghost stories.
