BURLINGTON, N.C. -- You can join the fight against cancer and make a difference just by lacing up your shoes and walking a few laps.
Every year hundreds of cancer survivors and their families come together to share their stories, celebrate survivors and remember those who fought the disease until the very end. This year's Alamance County Relay for Life takes place this Friday, May 19, 2017 at Burlington City Park.
So far, seventy-three teams and hundreds of participants have already raised $66,654.47 to benefit the American Cancer Society. There's still time for you join a team or make a donation. You can also attend Friday's events; which include Opening and Closing Ceremonies, a Survivors Lap, Caregivers Lap, and Luminaries.
Relay for Life symbolizes hope and the shared goal to end a disease that threatens the lives of so many people.
You can honor cancer survivors, remember those you have lost, and raise funds and awareness to fight back and help end cancer forever on Friday, May 19, 2017.
The event runs from 6 p.m. to Midnight at Burlington City Park located at 1333 Overbrook Road in Burlington.
