GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Throughout the month of May, the Good Morning Show has been celebrating Triad teachers!

Guilford County Schools announced their 2016 Teacher of the Year in September. Krista Hannah joined The Good Morning Show this week to talk about her passion for teaching and how her students have impacted her.

Hannah is a teacher known for her compassion toward students. She's also one of the leaders at one of GCS' most innovative schools. Hannah is an 8th grade math teacher at Ferndale Middle.

Hannah was praised by her co-workers for her compassion and willingness to go the extra mile for her students. She says her greatest accomplishment as a teacher was inspiring one of her own students to become an educator.

"You can only image the pride and joy I experienced when Shelby emailed me on the day of her first open house to ask me for advice nearly 15 years after she was in my class," said Hannah. "That's how I know I've made a difference."

Congratulations Krista Hannah!
