GREENSBORO, N.C. -- LIFESPAN, Inc. in Greensboro empowers children and adults with disabilities everyday. But this weekend, organizers came up with a unique way to celebrate LIFESPAN and love your for pets.
"We combine two causes, one is LIFESPAN, we work with adults with disabilities and the other is local pet adoption agencies," said Dawn Ashby Caldwell, the director of Arts at LIFESPAN. "We're hoping that people come out adopt some art and then purchase some of the great art made my people at LIFESPAN."
The art is all handmade. They'll have pictures, pottery and items made from recyclable goods for sale.
"We have 14 artists at the Mosaic Studio as part of LIFESPAN and they come three days a week and we do pottery, we do paintings, we just started doing some upcycle stations. So all the artists who come have disabilities and create fabulous artwork," said Caldwell.
The 2nd annual Art and Pet Palooza is a fun filled day that features food, art and games. There will also be three to four local pet rescue and adoption agencies present with adorable animals who need to find good homes.
LIFESPAN serves over 1,200 children and adults in 20 locations from Waynesville and Burlington in the areas of education, employment and enrichment.
You can help support LIFESPAN and its mission all while supporting the arts this weekend.
