GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. - Today is the deadline for Guilford County School students to submit proof of immunizations.

Parents of kindergartners and seventh graders need to get their kids immunized.

North Carolina law requires all children in the state to receive certain immunizations.

Guilford County Schools are legally required to suspend students who do not have documentation showing they received vaccinations.

Kindergartners should receive a booster dose of Polio vaccine after the 4th birthday and two doses of Varicella vaccine prior to the beginning of the 2017-18 school year.

7th graders should receive a booster dose of Tdap and a first dose of Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine.

Students have 30 days to submit health documents after the first day of school or enrollment.

Guilford County Schools has more than 5,000 7th grade students.

More than 500 students are facing suspension as of Monday morning.

School officials say 288 students still need the Tdap and 325 students are non-compliant with MCV.

Last year, the district says, 128 students were suspended for not submitting the required health documents on time.

The Department of Health and Human Services is offering vaccinations to help students avoid missing school.

Appointments are available for all children in the Public Health's general immunization clinics at 1100 E. Wendover Avenue in Greensboro and 501 E. Green Drive in High Point.
