HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Old computers, motor oil, paint and supplies you can get rid of it all for free this weekend. The city of High Point holds its annual Clean and Green recycling event Saturday, May 20, 2017.
It's open to all Guilford County residents and will be held at a new location this year. You can head to the High Point University Community Center located at 921 Eastchester Drive in High Point from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"It's a great opportunity for people to clean out the things they keep in their basements or locked away in closets while keeping the area clean and healthy," said Rebecca Coplin, one of the event organizers.
Residents can drop off the following items:
Household hazardous waste: including pesticides, antifreeze, motor oil, paint and supplies, cleaners, batteries, compact fluorescent bulbs, household chemicals
Electronics: including TVs, computers, electronic games and toys, cell phones, devices with an electronic chip, microwaves, vacuums, anything with a plug.
Personal and financial documents to be shredded (max. 4 file boxes per vehicle)
