GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Here's your invitation to an art and wine event that helps an amazing Triad cause. LIFESPAN empowers children and adults with disabilities by providing an education, employment or even an opportunity to make beautiful artwork.

Artists who work in the LIFESPAN Mosiac Studio create fabulous drawings, pottery and paintings. This Thursday, October 26, 2017, the artists are putting their designs on sale to support LIFESPAN.

LIFESPAN's Director of Arts, Dawn Ashby Caldwell says this year's Cabernets and Creations event will be bigger and better.

"We will have pottery, paintings, hand painted jewelry and furniture. It's just a great opportunity for the artists to come out and for the people to come out and shop and have a glass of wine and refreshments."

Caldwell says the event helps LIFESPAN in several ways.

"Half of the money that's raised goes back to the artists, which we think is really unique," said Caldwell. "They do all of this fabulous art and let's face it, who doesn't like to create art and who doesn't like to get paid for their art. And the other half goes back to the art program for materials, for supplies, for paint brushes and glazes, things like that."

LIFESPAN is hosting its 4th Annual Cabernets and Creations Art & Wine Festival on Thursday, October 26, 2017. It's at the LIFESPAN Creative Campus located at 908 McClellan Place in Greensboro. The event takes place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. For more information, click here.
