When it comes to job interviews, wouldn’t it be great if you could read the interviewer’s mind. You know, get a sneak peak of what they’re really thinking about you. You may not be able to read their mind, but you can read their body language to get a sense of what they might be thinking.
Here are 3 signs that the interview may not be going well.
1) Pursed lips can signal that the interviewer isn't quite sure what you’re talking about. Or, it's possible that they disagree with you.
2) Furrowed brows can signal they’re a bit confused or not convinced that you know what you're talking about.
3) Index finger on side of face while rest of hand cupping the chin can signal that they’re skeptical of what you're saying. Or, that they're thinking. Or, they're not in agreement.
If you see any of these signals, ask a clarifying question. You might say, “I’m getting the sense that something isn’t clear. What can I explain better?"
