GREENSBORO, N.C. – According to Greensboro Police, the number of deadly shootings have increased in the city.
So far in 2017, there have been 37 deadly shooting, slowly competing with last year’s number of 39 deadly shootings.
Police say the Black community is the group affected most by these crimes. 32 out of the 37 deaths from shootings this year have been Black victims.
WFMY News 2 reached out to Greensboro Police Captain Nathaniel Davis who says Greensboro is suffering a gun-grabbing problem: picking up guns to ‘solve’ problems and arguments.
Davis says most of the shooters are repeat offenders and that the city should provide more resources to help them combat this violent behavior.
