DAVIDSON COUNTY, NC - Davidson County deputies, Thomasville police and Winston-Salem police were all part of a multi-county car chase Monday in pursuit of a Winston-Salem man accused of filling a forged prescription.

Thomasville police came to Thomasville Family Pharmacy around 6 p.m. to address the call when Jon Carroll, the suspect, drove off in a Toyota Prius according to a release from Davidson County.

Carroll got on Business 85, nearly causing several accidents and later ran red lights and stop signs according to police. Carroll tried to hit Thomasville officers with his car when they set out stop sticks and drove a police car off the road when he tried to run into it. He continued to drive into Forsyth County before returning to Davidson County. One set of sticks caused Carroll's right rear tire to deflate, but he didn't stop.

Carroll continued on Old Salisbury Rd. back into Forsyth County before turning onto Preston Woods Road under construction in Winston-Salem.

Deputies used a P.I.T. maneuver to disable Carroll's car on the same road. He was taken into custody without further incident. No injuries were reported and no police cars were damaged.

Carroll, 40, was charged with three counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Government Official for trying to hit police with his car and Felony Flee to Elude. More charges are pending. Carroll has an April 11 court date.
