Massive Fire at Recycling Center Keeps Crews Busy In Davidson County

NORTH DAVIDSON COUNTY, NC -- A large fire keeps firefighters busy at the North Davidson Recycling Center in Davidson County.

Emergency workers in Davidson County said the fire started Friday around 7:00 p.m. at the Recycling Center located on Old US 52.

As many as 15 fire departments were at the scene to help get the fire under control.

During the fire, Old US Highway 52 is closed between Bethesda Road and Welcome-Bethesda Road.

Right now the cause of the fire is unknown.

Detour: North traffic must turn right onto Bethesda Road and follow Bethesda Road to Sink Road. Turn left to stay on Bethesda Road and follow it to Welcome-Bethesda Road. Turn left onto Welcome-Bethesda Road and follow it to re-access Old US Highway 52. South traffic must turn left onto Welcome-Bethesda Road and follow Welcome-Bethesda Road to Bethesda Road. Turn right onto Bethesda Road and follow it to Sink Road. Turn right to stay on Bethesda Road and follow it to re-access Old US Highway 52.
