Darrion Williams, from Greensboro, and Steven Witherspoon, from Winston-Salem, were traveling on the interstate before they were taken to the hospital. Witherspoon had life-threatening injuries while Williams' injuries weren't considered severe.

Winston-Salem Police encountered Witherspoon, 26, and Williams, 24, after they were treated at the hospital. Police couldn't confirm exactly where both men were shot since they didn't talk to the men until after they reached the hospital.

Witherspoon is still being treated.
