GREENSBORO, N.C.-- Deputies in Guilford County are no longer looking for 90-year-old Sherman Eugene Stewart. He was reported missing Thursday night just after 8:00pm but has been found safe.

According to the sheriff's office, Stewart was reported missing by family members and was last known to be at his house on South Holden Road. Family members say around 2:00 pm. Stewart said he was going to run some errands and he hadn't been seen since.

But Friday, Sheriff BJ Barnes with the Guilford County Sheriff's Office reports that deputies in Stuart, Virginia found Stewart pulled over on the side of the road after an individual had stopped to help Stewart and notified them of his location.

Stewart was conscious and alert when located and arrangements are being made to return him to his family.
