One Word – BARBECUE and we can’t get enough of it! Join the WFMY News 2 team in Uptown Lexington for the 33rd Barbecue Festival. The event includes Racing Pigs, Barbecue Festival Chop Shop, Cruise-In, Music, Pig Shindig, Sand Sculptures, Hawg Run, Que Up Brew Fest, Wine Garden, Dog Show, and of course barbecue tents and lots more fun. It’s from 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Admission is free

It’s already that time of the year for ICE SKATING fun! On Friday, October 21 the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds will open up its first Friday Night Ice Jam of the season. That means the ice rink lights go dark and the laser lights come on! Plus, check out DJ Tiger Paw and also Karaoke fun. Admission is $7 and $3 for skates. All the fun starts at 7:00 p.m.

Little ghosts and goblins will haunt the North Carolina Zoo this weekend. The Zoo will celebrate its ‘Boo At The Zoo’ event on October 22-23 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The event includes a magical carnival, games, prizes, candy, music, dance performers, and a costume contest both days at 2:00 p.m. The event is for kids ages 2-12. Registration for the costume contest begins at 1:00 p.m. Adult costumes, masks, and face paint are prohibited.

It’s ALL things NASCAR goes this Saturday in Randleman. The 28th NASCAR Day Festival takes place on Saturday, October 22 from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Main Street. It includes NASCAR show cars, drag cars, vintage rides, games, live bands, crafts, food, and more.

If you like ghosts’ tales of the past, then you’ll love the Ghost Stories in the Park. The event is Saturday, October 22 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Make sure you wear your Halloween costume while enjoying the tales of ghosts and goblins told by storyteller, Lona Bartlett. The event also includes a photo booth, crafts, and games including corn hole and Pokemon ball toss. Admission is $2 and free for High Point Historical Society Members. It’s located at 1859 East Lexington Avenue in High Point.
