GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Police officers went door-to-door on Monday, seeking information about the killing of an 18-year-old woman.

Kate-Lynn Simmons was shot to death outside of Northwinds Apartments in Greensboro on June 4.

Police are asking neighbors and surrounding businesses if they saw or heard anything that could help find the person who killed Simmons.

Members of Simmons' family also joined in the canvas.

"She was just starting out her life," Erica Simmons-King, Kate-Lynn's aunt, said. "And if coming out here today prevents any other family member from having to experience what we've had to, then I will do it every day."

Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
