RANDOLPH COUNTY, NC – The arrest warrant for a former Southwestern Randolph High School coach and teacher has revealed more information into his misdemeanor sexual battery charge.

According to the documents, Jarret Elliott arrested on April 27, only a day after school system representatives say he resigned from his position. He was charged with one count of misdemeanor sexual battery for “grabbing the buttocks of a student juvenile victim” on April 24.

Deputies say the investigation into Elliott began after a complaint was made by a student, and was led by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, together with the school system. Elliott was suspended with pay on April 25. He resigned on April 26.

Investigators say Elliott posted the $5,000 unsecured bond on that same day, on the condition he have no contact with the alleged victim.

WFMY News 2 reached out to Elliott for comment, but he has not returned our calls.
