ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC -- The statewide discussion about the opioid crisis continued in Rockingham County today.

Sheriff Sam Page hosted North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein for an opioid crisis summit. Members of the law enforcement community, health and human services, and the faith community all took part in the discussion.

Stein said he wanted to learn about the extent of the problem in Rockingham County and what the community is doing to try to solve it.

Sheriff Page said the approach should be two-fold: stop the drugs from coming in and find the best way to treat people with addictions.

Ultimately, Stein said it will take everyone -- from President Donald Trump to the average community member -- to end the opioid crisis.
