OUTER BANKS, N.C. -- A 66-year-old surfer was found dead at a beach in the Outer Banks.

Dare County emergency workers said the man was found floating face-down in the water north of Rodanthe at Cape Hatteras National Seashore. People near the area tried to save the man’s life by doing CPR.
Emergency officials said the man was discovered with the surfboard still on his ankle.

Police have not released a cause of death at this time.
