LEXINGTON, N.C. — On a tour of North Carolina Monday, which included a stop at Greensboro's Natty Green's, Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke stopped in Lexington for some North Carolina barbecue and to meet with local leaders.
WFMY News 2's Ben Briscoe asked O'Rourke about what the politican from Texas thought of North Carolina barbecue. O'Rourke said: "It was pretty good, very diffrent from what I'm used to in Texas where it's beef and it's brisket. Here chopped pork barbecue where it's a little bit different."
Lexington City Council Member Frank Callicutt also tweeted about the visit. Writing, "Thank you Beto for stopping in the City of Lexington. Great positive visit."
