Tractor-Trailer Crashes Into Utility Pole On US-64 In Davie County, Closes Road

DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. — A tractor-trailer crash has closed US-64 in both directions in Davie County Thursday morning.

The closure is near the intersection with Ridge Road outside Mocksville. North Carolina State Highway Patrol says a tractor-trailer going east on 64 ran off the road and overturned, crashing into a utility pole. The crash happened just after 5 a.m. The driver, Jimmy Powers of Harmony, North Carolina, was not injured.

Minutes later, a white Crown Victoria crashed into the tractor-trailer. The driver of the Crown Victoria left the scene. Utility crews are there repairing the pole.

The road is expected to reopen at 1 p.m.
