Wake Forest University Graduates Nearly 1,900

It is that time of the year! Nearly 1,900 Demon Deacons are saying farewell to Wake Forest University and hello to new, exciting careers.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- It is that time of the year! Nearly 1,900 Demon Deacons are saying farewell to Wake Forest University and hello to new, exciting careers. On Monday, May 21st, the university wil hold it's outdoor commencement ceremony on Hearn Plaza, also known as "The Quad," at 9:00 a.m.

Carla Harris, the vice chairman, managing director and senior client advisor at Morgan Stanley, will deliver the commencement address to graduates and their families. Harris, along with Dr. Clinton Forrest Faison III, Lawrence Joel, Dan Porterfield and Tom Sager will receive honorary degrees at the ceremony. Cardinal Dolan will receive an honorary degree at the university's baccalaureate service.

Because of the large crowd, traffic is expected to be heavy at the entrances to campus on Reynold Road, Polo Road and University Parkway. No through traffic will be allowed on Monday. It's best to take an alternate route if you need to travel near campus.

You can meet some of the graduates and learn more about the graduating class from career experts on WFMY News 2's Maddie Gardner's Facebook page.
